Free Jcomments template

How to install the JComments template ?

• Download my JComments template here
• Extract the zip file and use a FTP program upload the theme folder to the "[root]/components/com_jcomments/tpl/" path.
• Login to back-end of your site click to "Components -> JComments -> Settings" Choose a template you want :

• Click to the save button after back to front-end of your site and reload to view all changes

How to obtain the indented layout ?

Go to the section "Component --> Jcomments --> Settings --> Layout". In the option "Comment list --> Layout", you must choose "Tree"

How to display avatar

• You must download and install the plugin Avatar from Jcomments website.
• Then, go to the Plugin manager in your website and enable the plugin.
  If you edit the plugin, you can choose the source of your avatar icon. On my demo, I select the Kunena source to use the avatars of Kunena users.
• Go to the Administration panel of Jcomments
• In the section "General", enable the option "Miscellaneous --> enable plugins"
• In the section "Permissions", enable the option "Display --> Show Gravatar" for Public, Guest and Register

Is it possible to customize the colors of the template ?

Yes it's possible. You must edit the file "components/com_jcomments/tpl/JoomSpirit_theme/style.css"

You can change the green background color of Header and titles and the color of links, line 16 to 34.

Of course, you can change others code if you have enough CSS knowledge but I can"t help you for any customization. Thank you for your comprehension.

Templates optimized for Jcomments

I tested this Jcomments template with Protostar and that work fine but if you want obtain a perfect result, I recommend you to use a JoomSpirit template.

All templates after the number 134 will be compatible with this extension.
